SEIZE!
A game of fate and nerve · 2+ players · one deck
- Discard every 3, 4, 5, 6 and all Kings. They are worthless. 32 cards remain.
- Rank, high to low: A > Q > J > 10 > 9 > 8 > 7 > 2. Aces high, 2 lowest.
- Deal all cards face-down and even. Discard any extras face-down. More than 5 players? Add a second deck.
- Never look at your cards. On your turn, flip the top card of your stock onto the table — fate decides.
- The first card of the game sets the trump suit.
- Highest card wins the round and leads the next. Trump beats all other suits. On a tie, the card played first wins.
- SEIZE: if your card is the weakest on the table, you may turn it 90° — its suit becomes the new trump immediately, and the round is judged by whichever trump rules when its last card falls. Trump cards can never Seize.
- When you Seize, discard one card blindly from the top of your stock.
- Seizes stack: the game’s 1st Seize discards 1 card, the 2nd 2, the 3rd 3… A Seize back to the original trump resets the count to 1. If a Seize would discard your entire stock, you may choose to do so. You leave the game with no Victory.
- You cannot win by discarding. Your final card must be played from your stock, face-up, like any other round.
- If your final card is the highest of its round, you are out — with no victory. The next player to empty their stock wins.
Goal: abandon all your cards first.
Let nothingness grant you freedom and victory.
